Ivan's Math Pages 142-143

Pages 142-143:

3)

a) 300% = 3. 3 x 2000 = 6000

b) 1 + 1/4% = 0.0125. 0.0125 x 60 = 0.75

c) 0.1% = 0.001. 0.001 x 40 = 0.04

4)

a) 20% = 0.2. 0.2 x 60 = 12

b) 250% = 2.5. 2.5 x 400 = 1000

c) 10 + 1/2% = 0.105. 0.105 x 100 = 10.5

7) Two hundred tickets are being sold for a school draw.

a) What is your chance of winning one ticket? Express your answer as a percent.

MI: 200 tickets, once chance ticket, % = 100

SS: 0.5% of winning one ticket.

b) How many tickets would you need to purchase to have a 2.5% chance of winning ?

MI: 200 tickets, one chance ticket, %= 100, two tickets of winning.

SS: You need two more tickets to have a chance of winning 2.5%.

( If I made any mistakes, just tell me and I'll work on it. :) )
