Nino's, Math Profile

Hi my is Nino. To me math is kind of fun, but even better if the teacher is really funny. I actually like learning math, but not homework since we already have to do lots of work in school. I don't really like doing much work, because I also want to have fun. I really like solving because some of the problems are new to me, and you get learn the ways of it. Elementary was way different and much easier.

Last year, we did integers. It was easy, and we also used chips as an example on how use integers and the tests would be like free marks since it was so easy. I also liked areas of circles and squares, because we did the formulas and they were new to me. But I was kind of struggling on it since there were lots of formulas to remember.

This year I think I will do well on integers, since it's easy, but not on algebra. Algebra was kind of confusing and I did really do well on it last year, but this year i 'm going to try studying on it.

Last year when I was a blogger I got kind of confused on how make one, but the teacher helped me so I finished it on time. Blogging was actually kind of fun, and it felt good doing it for the first time.

Diana's Math Profle.

Hi, my name is Diana. I'm a math student in grade 8. If someone asked me if I liked math I would say not really. Its not a subject I like doing. I'm not good at it but I like solving some of the problems even if I'm wrong. I remember in grade 6 when we would play a lot of math games & problem solving. I liked doing problems solving with real life problems. Math in grade 6 was way easier to me.

In Grade 7 I really liked learning about mean, median, mode, outlier, and range. The way Mr. Isfeld taught us, I could really remember. I also remember not being good at integers because I was gone while Mr. Isfeld taught the class, and I didn't ask the teacher & students for help.

This is now grade 8. I know that by finishing my homework, I will help me get a better grade in math. I also want to learn more about square numbers and square roots because I find it to be easy. I'm looking forward to doing Algebra in grade 9.

I was a blogger last year. http://room42math09.blogspot.com/2010/06/five-top-for-tests.html this post is about answering test questions also for exams. I like this post because it was really colorful and this was one of the best posts I've done. On this post I got 18 comments, it's not really though. This year, I hope I do a lot more posts and get a lot of comments.

Michael's math profile.

Hey, I'm Michael, and I am a grade 8 math student . If someone asked me if I like math, I would say 'kind of' because sometimes it's easy for me to learn, but at the same time hard to understand. The thing I liked the most in math class, was doing the spinners for circle graphs, and we would all guess which colour it was going to land on !

Last year in grade 7, my favourite unit we studied, was fractions, because it was really easy, and we learned how to add and subtract them. I did well in this unit because, it was very easy for me to understand what was going on, and what was going to come next. The unit I had a hard time was converting the decimals, because sometimes I would get confused.

This year, in grade 8 math, I will become successful, by studying hard and finishing all my homework and getting good grades on tests. I would like to learn more about algebra, and anything else that's new to us and become a better and smarter student for all units.

My favourite blog I did last year, was the one I first did, because it was the day we first learned how to blog and I think I improved throught the year. Blogging helped me a lot because we gave and got feedback from our classmates saying what we can do better next time. I want to do more blogging this year, and just have fun !

Kaecee's Math Profile

Hey, my name is Kaecee Ramirez and I am a Grade 8 math student. If someone were to ask me if I really liked math, I would say yes. I really like solving problems such as multiplication, decimals, and many more. Its just that sometimes it confuses me because of the letters and stuff.

Last year in grade 7 I learned about integers, it was really easy and I enjoyed playing with the chips because it had helped me a lot. I also did well on my tests and quiz's but i know i could do way better. Other thing I like about math are Mean, Median, Mode and Range, they are easy to solve. I didn't like the unit that you have to find the diameter and radius using pi because it was hard and really confusing.

This year I am going to try my best for the tests and quiz's. This year I expected myself to do way better than last year, so I can study more harder and I want to be successful on this subject because it makes me feel good when i do math, but just not the math text book because i like it when it relates to the world.

Last year, I was not very good at doing the blog and i didn't really put effort in it. I know this year we're going to put more blogging, so i have to be ready and start really doing my blogs. This year i would like to start relating, like in real life situations.

Tianna's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Tianna Rarama, and I'm in grade 8. If someone asked me if i like math i would say not really. Because math isn't my best subject, and sometimes things can get confusing for me. I like doing fractions and decimals. Mostly because there easier for me then geography because I would sometimes forget the formulas.

The best thing about last year in grade 7 was doing coordinates and fractions. Because it wasn't as confusing as the other subjects in math. My worst subject in math was geography. I didn't really get how to use the formulas. Like I'd get mixed up a lot.

This year in grade 8 I hope we do more geography. Because I want to get better at it, and understand it better. So I can get a better grade.

Cameron's Math Profile

Hello there, my name is Cameron. I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if I liked math I would say yes it is a subject I like to take. I am not the best at math but I like solving the questions for fun. I remember a time in grade 5 when the the whole classs got up and went into a big circle and played this multiplication game were one kid would go around the circle and compete with the other students, then when he got it wrong the person who beat him would go around the circle. I found that game to be really fun and it helped me with my multiplication. That is math I reall like.

In grade 7 I really liked the unit on areas of circles and squares. I remember all about the formulas to find them. I also remember struggling with rotation on a grid. The shape would have too many sides so it would make it harder. Last year I did not study that much. I think if I study more this year I will do better.

This year is grade 8. I know that studying and using the blog and my friends will help me do better with my work. I really want to do a lot more of Algebra and what ever it takes for me too be better in the years to come.

I was a blogger last year. http://room44math09.blogspot.com/2009/10/dividing-decimals_27.html this I did on dividing decimals. I was proud of this post because I put a vdeo and a link, it could of been better if I put a picture. Also many people commented on it. It makes me feel good when somebody comments. I am really looking foward to doing math movies on the computer this year.

Ivan's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Ivan Salvador. I am a student in grade 8. If someone asked me if I like math I would say yes, because I like math. Best subject. Even though I’m not as good as others, I try to do my best. The thing I like to do in math the best is integers, cause their easy for me. I liked the integer’s event, because I like adding.

In grade 7 the best unit I studied was integers, I did well on integers because it was like addition and subtraction. The unit, I’ve really struggled with was algebra and the circumference. I struggled with it because it was hard for me to understand. This year, I’ll try to do my best to understand those two.

This year to become more successful is to listen, do work, and study hard. Also, ask questions about problems that struggle me a lot.

My favorite post from last year was:
http://room43math09.blogspot.com/2010/06/measures-of-central-tendancy_18.html
Blogging helped me a lot, even though I couldn’t really go on the computer. This year, I would like to do more blogging.

Justin Lorenzo's Math Profile

Hello my name is Justin Lorenzo. I'm a math student in Grade 8. If someone asked me if I liked math I would have to say yes because i like the subject, even if I am not as a good as other people. The best thing I have ever done in math class is draw pictures and graphs. I liked this event because I like to draw and also I like fractions alot.

In grade 7 the best unit I have studied was fractions, I did well in it because I like to add fractions together. The unit that kinda made me struggle was the algebra part because it was sometimes hard to understand. This year to not struggle that much for algebra is for me to listen carefully and also to study hard.

This year to become a successful grade 8 math student I will work my best to study more. This year I want to learn more about decimals.

This was my favourite post from last year:
Exam Review Study Notes (June 9' 10)
Blogging has helped me become a better student by me getting more information. This year on the computer for math I would like to still do more blogging.

Domenico

Hi, my name is Domenico Crucetti, and i am a math student in grade 8. If someone were to ask me if I liked math, I would say yes because its one of my favorite subjects and I like doing it. I dont have any memorible moments from math, and I cant think of any projects that I got a really high mark on.

Last year in grade 7 the best unit I studied was adding and subtracting fractions, because when I came to Sargent Park I already had alot of experience with it. A unit I struggled with would be finding the circumference by using the radius/diameter, because i kept forgetting the pattern on how to do it. I've already gotten better at it and don't struggle as much.

To be a more successful student in math i am going to pay more attention in class and not procrastinate. I don't know what i want to learn this year.

I didnt do a blog last year.

Justin G's Math Profile

Hello there, my name is Justin Gacilan, I'm a math student in Grade 8. If someone asked me if I liked math I would have to say Yes, although I'm not the best in math I always try my best. I enjoy having to learn math because math is used on a daily basis in life. The two best things I have ever done in a math class would be Adding & Subtracting, and Multiplication because like I said as above they are needed on a daily basis and help a lot.

Last year in Grade 7, the best unit I had studied would be Integers. Even they are easy to do, I did one of the best in this unit. They were easy to understand once my teacher explained what we had to do in order to succeed. The unit I struggled the most in would be answering math problems, they are the easiest to do. I just can't seem to figure out those difficult questions without the aid of a parent / guardian.

In Grade 8 I will pay attention in math class, and if I ever have a question I will ask in order to stay on task. I would like to learn about Algebra and Probabilities.

Casey's Math Profile

Heeyooo, My name is Casey Younger, and I am a math student in grade 8. If someone were to ask me if I liked math, I would probably say no, not really because I am not the kind of person who enjoys doing math I would usually just use a calculator. The best thing I have ever done in math class would be learning about fractions, because they have helped me alot in life so far.

Last year in grade 7 my best unit I studied would be Adding and Subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. I did well in this unit because I understood the notes Mr.Isfield gave us. The unit that made me struggle last year would be algebra, this year I could pay more attention to whats going on in class so I wont struggle so much.

This year in grade 8, I will pay more attention, ask for help more often and keep on task so I can be a more successful grade 8 math student. The thing I want to learn this year would be, Algebra, and more Probability.

The favorite blog post I did last year would be http://homeworkpackage.blogspot.com/ . Blogging helped me become a better student because, it made me more organized. What I want to do on the computer this year in math would be making math videos and posting them on the blog.

Daniel's Math Profile

Hello , my name is Daniel Sousa . I am a math student in grade 8 . If someone asked me if i liked math , i would say yes . I like math because it is one of my favorite subjects and i am pretty strong in it . The best thing i have ever done in math class was when we did a project on sandwiches , and then at the end we got to eat them .

Last year in grade 7 , my best subject was fractions. I was good at this because i was good , at adding and subtracting them . The subject in grade 7 that i struggled in was difficult algebra . I could get better at this by studying more , and doing the homework booklet .

This year i will try my best to , be better at math . I would also like to learn , advanced algebra . To be ready for grade 9 .

One post that i did last year that i am proud of was a study sheet for the exam . I really liked this post because i added pictures and it was very colorful. Blogging helped me become a better student , because when i would forget what the homework was . It would be on the blog . This year for math class i would like to continue doing the blog , and blog like last year.

Diorella's Math Profile

Hey! My name is Diorella Rosario. I am a grade 8 Math student. If someone asked me if I liked math, I would have to say yes because I find it to be one of my best subjects. I really like math because I like solving problems and thinking. The best thing I ever did in math is the grade 7 math exam because I found it to be not that difficult although it was rather long but it tested my skills.

The best unit last year that I studied was fractions. It was the best because my dad already taught me all those things when I was younger so I found it easy. The subject I struggled most in was in integers because I had some difficulty figuring out the positives and negatives. This year to try not to struggle as much I will try to raise my hand more if I have an answer and also to have more practise so I can get better marks on tests & quizzes.

This year for grade 8, I will pay more attention in class, ask questions if I don't understand and try to really focus on getting better marks in class. I will also do my best to finish all my homework as soon as possible and to NOT procrastinate. I am not really looking forward to any single subjects but I am really looking forward to learning more algebra because it interests me.

In grade 7, I did a few blog posts. My favourite post of mine was about exam review . I liked it because I spent lots of time and work on it and I think I did a pretty good job. It was very thorough but I think I could've made it better by adding a few more definitions and maybe more videos for visual learners. Blogging made me a better student because it helped my memory and was a quick & easy way to get help and access my homework. It was also a big help when getting ready for the math exam last year. This year, I'm looking forward to making my blog posts better. Okay, bye :)

Justin S's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Justin Sunga . I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if i liked math, i would say no , because its not my favourite subject and its one of my weak subjects . The best thing I ever did in a math class was working in a small group or with a partner .

Last year in grade 7. The best unit i studied was Coordinate grids.I did well in the unit because it was fun and easy . The unit i needed help with was integers because i got confused when it came to adding and subtracting it since I couldn't do it properly. I will ask questions and listen better so I will not struggle as much as I did last year.

I am in grade 8 now. To be a successful math student, I will do my homework as early as possible and not procrastinate. I would like to learn new things this year so I can prove myself that I can try my best to improve.

Due to me being so lazy , i didnt really do a blog .

Tonie's Math Profile

Hey, my name is Tonie Reyes and I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if I liked math, I would honestly say no. Math is my weakest subject and sometimes, I have a hard time understanding it. The best thing I have done in math class was fractions. I liked it because it was very easy, but as I got older it got harder and harder. I remember one time when I was in grade 4, I was in a group and we were given 3 different coloured paper. We had to cut the paper into 10 pieces and used it to make fractions.

Last year in grade 7, the best unit I studied was integers. At first it was a bit confusing but in the end it got easy. I did well on zero pairs , number lines, adding and subtracting integers. The unit I struggled in the most was Rotation, Translation, and Reflection. I didn't know how to show it on the coordinate grid but I knew the definitions. I will ask more questions, do my homework/work on time, and study harder so this year, I won't struggle so much.

This year for grade 8, I will pay attention more, check the blog more often for homeworks or tests, I will try to participate more in class by raising my hand if I know the answer, and also ask my peers or teachers for help to be a successful math student. I would like to learn algebra to get ready for grade 9.

Last year, the post i liked the most was about Integers. I liked it because i used different colours. But I would've made it better by putting more pictures, videos, and links. Blogging helped me a better student because it helped me refresh my memory, and when I miss a day of school or left my math stuff in school, I can just go on the computer and check the blog. This year, I am looking forward to making math videos, and other math websites.

Kyle's Math Profile

Hello, my name is Kyle Dela Cruz. I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if i liked math, i would say yes since i get to learn new and different things to help me in life. I remember in grade 6 when we did a lot of adding and dividing fractions. But to solve these, we had to put them into real life possibilities.

Last year in grade 7. The best unit i studied was Area. I did Well in this unit because i found it easy to find the area, once i understood how to do it. The subject i found hard to understand was Circles. I found it hard to do the formulas because it had me confused. What i could do to not struggle this year is to study the unit so i can understand it better.

This year in grade 8. What i will do to be a successful math student, is to finish the work that is given to me and to study and learn from my mistakes. I am not sure about what i would like to learn this year.

I was a blogger last year. There are a few posts i have made. This is one of the posts i did. It helped me become a better student. Because my classmates commented on what i could do next time to improve on my blogging. I would like to learn new things on the computer in math class such as new techniques on our posts for the blog.

AJ's Math Profile

Hello! My name is AJ Pangan. I am a grade 8 math student. If someone asked me if I liked math I would say No.I'm not really good at it because I find it frustrating and confusing at times. The best thing I ever did in a math class was in Grade 6 when my teacher would give us random math questions and would give prizes to the winning team.I like this event because it would challenge us and we got a reward afterwards.

Last year in grade 7,The best unit I studied was Coordinate grids.I did well in the unit because it was fun and easy. The unit that made me struggle was Integers. It was difficult for me because I got confused when it came to the adding and subtracting.I will ask questions and listen better so I will not struggle as much as I did last year.

This year in grade 8 the things I will do to become a successful math student is to listen more, ask questions if I don't understand and study.I will not slack off like I did last year. The things I want to learn about this year are anything.

Due to me being lazy last year, I didn't do a blog...

Kathryn's Math Profile

Hi there! My name is Kathryn Nicanor. I am a grade 8 student, if someone ask me if I like math, I would say "it depends" because some math units are really hard and complicated. However, there are Math units that are just a piece of cake for me. The most fun thing I experienced in Math class was when the teacher split the class in two groups. The first group who answers the question right has a point. The group with most points in 5 minuets, win. I remembered that the girls won and we received bonus marks! We had fun but also learned a lot of things.

The best unit I studied last year in grade 7 was Fractions. I did well in that unit because it was easy for me and I believe I really focused when Mr.Isfeld was teaching this unit to us and it was kinda fun for me .The unit I struggled the most was Integers because I find the adding of positive and negative very confusing. To not struggle this year in Math, I would concentrate during Math class, do my home works, and ask questions if I do understand a part of a unit.

To be a successful grade 8 student I will manage my time well, I will study harder when I don't understand something, I will ask questions to teachers,I will participate more in class discussion, I will finish assigned work on time.Lastly, I will keep in mind that what were studying right now is a thing that we will treasure and use in the future. This year I'm looking forward to learning how to manage money and lessons that will help us get ready for grade 9.

I was a blogger last year and I made few blogs. The blog I liked the most is the Divisibility blog I made. I like this post because I was really rushing when I made the post because of home works I have to do.However, I still received good opinions which I respected. Blogging really helped me to be a better student because when I have to miss class, there are reliable students that would post what they did in class and the home works to be done. In that case, its like I did a math class at home and when I come to school the next day, I am not that behind. In grade 8, I would like to make math videos about the units we will talk this year and our opinion about it. Also, I want to know more math sites that will help us understand some units we will talk about this year.

Chris's Math blog

Hi my name is Chris I'm a grade 8 student. If someone asked me if I like math I would say no because I'm really bad at it and I really dislike it. When I do math questions i get confused or i mess up on it. The best thing I ever did in a math class was working in a group or with a partner because if one of us gets it wrong we can work together to help that one person or we can correct each other.

In grade 7 the best thing I ever studied was the coordinate grid. When I first learned about it i got confused then when we got to the middle of studying it I started to get it. It made sense and was easy. I did well in this unit because are teacher would give us a negative number and a positive number then we will find it on either quadrant. The unit i struggled in was pie because when we divide or multiply i would get confused. The thing i would do to make me struggle less is study more for the quiz and tests.

For grade 8 this year i will study for quizzes and tests and ask questions on the hard or confusing questions. I will pay attention in class.

my favourite post on the blog i posted is i really don't know?

Marilen's Math Profile

Hey there! My name is Marilen and I am a math student in grade eight. If someone asked me if liked math, I would say yes because its my favorite subject and i find that I am strong in it. It is so, because I like thinking, and solving math problems. The best thing that I ever did in math class took place in grade 6, where we had to solve long division questions on a board. There were numerous questions, and we were in a group, so we had to solve them quick. My group won, but it didn't matter because my classmates had a fun time. I enjoy working in groups.

In grade 7, the best unit I liked was co-ordinate grids. At first, I found it a bit hard, but I began to understand it a lot more since I asked for help, so it became fairly easy. The unit that made me struggle was integers because I got confused when it came to adding and subtracting it -- since I couldn't do it properly. As we learned more about integers, it got a big easier, but i still find it confusing. This year, I will ask questions on the unit, since I didn't ask questions last year. Also, I will take time to practice units that are confusing to me. Lastly, I will study for tests and quizzes so i receive high marks.

This is now grade eight. To become a better student, I will ask questions if I need help, or to understand a unit a lot better. I will pay attention and listen in class, and I will finish my homework on time, and not procrastinate. Also, I will participate in class by answering questions that I know the answer to. I am looking forward to learning more about algebra, and how to solve different equations so I can get ready for grade nine.

I was a blogger last year, and I made a few posts. My favorite post was about the exam review when i blogged about lines, finding the area of shapes, angles, and converting fractions. I think I did well on the blog because I added color, a video, links, and pictures. Also, it showed how much I improved from my first blog. Blogging helped me become a better student because I had to listen in class so I can get all the notes I had to blog about. Also, it refreshed my memory about the things we already learned about during math. This year, I am looking forward to creating math videos/movies, and going to new math websites on the computer.
