Hi there! My name is Kathryn Nicanor. I am a grade 8 student, if someone ask me if I like math, I would say "it depends" because some math units are really hard and complicated. However, there are Math units that are just a piece of cake for me. The most fun thing I experienced in Math class was when the teacher split the class in two groups. The first group who answers the question right has a point. The group with most points in 5 minuets, win. I remembered that the girls won and we received bonus marks! We had fun but also learned a lot of things.
The best unit I studied last year in grade 7 was Fractions. I did well in that unit because it was easy for me and I believe I really focused when Mr.Isfeld was teaching this unit to us and it was kinda fun for me .The unit I struggled the most was Integers because I find the adding of positive and negative very confusing. To not struggle this year in Math, I would concentrate during Math class, do my home works, and ask questions if I do understand a part of a unit.
To be a successful grade 8 student I will manage my time well, I will study harder when I don't understand something, I will ask questions to teachers,I will participate more in class discussion, I will finish assigned work on time.Lastly, I will keep in mind that what were studying right now is a thing that we will treasure and use in the future. This year I'm looking forward to learning how to manage money and lessons that will help us get ready for grade 9.
I was a blogger last year and I made few blogs. The blog I liked the most is the Divisibility blog I made. I like this post because I was really rushing when I made the post because of home works I have to do.However, I still received good opinions which I respected. Blogging really helped me to be a better student because when I have to miss class, there are reliable students that would post what they did in class and the home works to be done. In that case, its like I did a math class at home and when I come to school the next day, I am not that behind. In grade 8, I would like to make math videos about the units we will talk this year and our opinion about it. Also, I want to know more math sites that will help us understand some units we will talk about this year.
