Ryan’s Math Profile

Hello my names Ryan, and I am a student in grade 8 math. If anyone were to ask me if I liked math I would say yes because I like learning new ways of solving problems and learning from my mistakes that I make. I remember in grade 3 our class got to play with these bricks that opened and had more bricks inside of it and we got to add them and got to use them as little lego pieces after the lesson.

The previous year in grade 7, my favourite unit we did was two step algebra because I liked the challenage of the questions and how i had to use my brain to think out what the variable was. The unit i struggled with the most was probability because I got very confused when using the tree diagrams. This year to try not to struggle as much I could maybe write down more examples and look threw them every once in a while.

For this year in grade 8 want to try to participate in more group discussions and always have my homework finished on time, and if I don't understand the unit I could ask friends or the teacher to help make me understand. These are some of the things that i need to help become a better math student. This year i want to more of the algebraic equations and have myself prepared for grade 9.

Last year in grade 7 I was a blogger and one of the blogs i made were http://room72math09.blogspot.com/2010/06/define-perpendicular-describes-lines.html#comments this blog was a small review of a part of the final exam. It talks about different kinds of angles, this blog was my favourite because I worked really hard on it and took time to make each of my pictures. Blogging helped me become a better student because it makes me review what we did in todays lessons. While we are on the computers in math I would like to make a little animation of maybe a unit or some sort.
