Mike's Algebra Post

Algebra - Writing mathematical phrases using letters to represent numbers.
Variable - A letter that represents a number in an algebraic expression or equation.
Constant - The integer in an algebraic equation or expression.
Equation - Only has one answer and has an equal sign (=).


Solving an Algebraic Equation:
1) Isolate the variable
2) Cancel the constant using zero pair
3) Balance, doing it to both sides
4) Verify to check

One Step Equation:
















Two Step Equation:
1. Isolate the variable
2. Cancel the constant
3. Balance
4. Simplify the variable
5. Balance
6. Verify
