Winnipeg Harvest

What I learned from Winnipeg Harvest is that they help poor families who are in need of food across Winnipeg and that those food that they donate really helps heaps and heaps of people. Winnipeg Harvest usually gets its food supplies from people who are willing to donate, different Supermarkets and different stores too.

Some of the items that are needed in Winnipeg Harvest are:
  • Canned Fish or Poultry
  • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
  • Canned Stew, Chili or Brown Beans
  • Baby Food
  • Whole Grain or Whole Wheat Pasta
  • Peanut Butter ( Light)
  • Rice
  • Canned Spaghetti Sauce or Tomatoes
  • Cereal
  • Canned Soup

I can honestly say that I've been to Winnipeg Harvest before, because during the summer I've been volunteering with Jocelle and Kathryn, so it was no biggie, but this time it was a different job so I experienced something new. I remembered us making those Family Packages/ Emergency kits where we need to put in a box of pasta, canned vegetable, canned fruit and a soup in a small plastic bag. We also have to pack them up in larger bags and like make a stack of them in a small stage, so it was practically a tiring work but a fun one also (;

    I like how you explained what the Winnipeg Harvest is and how they help people. I also liked how you put who donates and what they donate. It was also good that you put what you did before and what you have just done. Keep up the good work.
